About Visit North Norfolk

Visit North Norfolk, a membership organisation, is the official not-for-profit DMO for the area, commissioned by North Norfolk District Council. Visit North Norfolk is part of the east of England Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP), accredited by Visit Britain. The role of Visit North Norfolk is to support businesses by promoting the area as a holiday destination through its website (the official visitor guide) and marketing campaigns. This helps tourism businesses achieve a higher profile than they would alone. Tourism is worth over £500m to the north Norfolk economy, employing nearly 12,000 people in the sector. Visitor numbers to the area are growing each year and this provides an opportunity for tourism businesses in north Norfolk.

The role of Visit North Norfolk

Our objective is to attract visitors to the area by highlighting north Norfolk's unique offering, while representing and showcasing all business sectors in the visitor economy. By becoming a member, north Norfolk businesses are contributing to promoting the destination through engaging marketing campaigns and being a part of a comprehensive guide to the area. Year-round promotion drives visitors to the website where they can search for and book accommodation (we do not charge commission for bookings made through our site) as well as things to do - it's the place your business needs to be. Visit North Norfolk helps the whole tourism industry communicate in an amplified and focused voice to national and international visitors.

Business support

Each year, we run a free networking and marketing event where members are updated on the marketing activity, market research, latest insights, influences and trends as well as providing the chance for businesses to get together. Additionally, members receive regular and timely updates about issues and opportunities affecting their business. Members are the first to hear about training and marketing workshops, as well as funding and grants notifications. We're also just at the end of the phone to answer any questions, provide a sounding board and as well as give any marketing advice.

Visit North Norfolk is a member of the Tourism Alliance, which seeks to establish and maintain a favourable operating environment for all businesses involved in the delivery of tourism and whose main purpose is to lobby government both in the UK and Brussels on the key strategic issues facing the industry. Therefore, we are able to feed key issues facing local businesses into the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) via the Tourism Alliance.

As a member, you will have the opportunity to benefit from, and feature in our marketing campaigns. There are also sponsorship and advertising opportunities, discounted for members. As the recognised official DMO, the media contacts Visit North Norfolk directly for business recommendations and suggestions for press features as well as organising press trips, which members can be a part of. 

Becoming a member of Visit North Norfolk

Annual business membership costs from as little as £170 and brings many benefits. First of all, you will receive a listing on the Visit North Norfolk website with links through to your own site. Businesses also benefit from a 'book now' button on their listing taking visitors straight through to your own website or bookability platform integrated with the Visit North Norfolk site (at no extra cost and no commission charged). With 90% people booking accommodation online and 74% people using a VISIT website for trusted holiday inspiration, it's a key opportunity for your business to be in the right place at the right time.

The fully responsive website has 5m page views and over 1.4m users a year. There are two listing levels where you can include details of business awards, images and videos, Google Tours, Tripadvisor reviews, social media links and bookability through a range of OTA and PMS systems (or a booking link direct to your own site - for all businesses). Members also benefit from access to a free digital asset library where images, videos and other marketing collateral can be downloaded and used in your own marketing.
