Cycling along north Norfolk's quiet country lanes and coastal paths is a great way to explore the area. The coast, countryside and woodland routes, offer stunning landscapes as you pedal your way through north Norfolk.
Whether you're a keen long distance cyclist, off-road biker or want to enjoy a family bike ride, north Norfolk has something for everyone. There are gentle coastal routes and trails, quiet lanes in the pretty countryside as well as organised races. The Norfolk Coast Cycleway covers 59 miles from King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth passing through Cromer and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with fantastic countryside and views. The route is suitable for all ages and abilities with gentle hills and quiet lanes just inland from the coast, offering breath-taking scenery.
Tracking along disused railway paths, country parks, forest paths, bridleways and quiet roads, the Sustrans National Cycle Network passes through Norfolk and has routes that are safe, shorter, fun and simple. Routes including Marriott's Way, are ideal for children and enjoying family bike rides.

For a real adventure on wheels, take one of the Bittern Line Train and Cycle routes. Hop aboard the train with your bike, take any one of the journeys that link Cromer and Sheringham with Norwich and the Norfolk Broads, Starting at Norwich, Bittern Line stations are at Salhouse, Hoveton & Wroxham, Worstead, North Walsham, Gunton, Roughton Road, Cromer, West Runton and Sheringham. Hop off to take linear or circular cycle routes from its stations, using country lanes. Distances vary from 6 miles to 30+ miles.
If you are looking for a shorter route, try the Broads Cycle Routes. These take you through the picturesque countryside of the Broads National Park by a network of quiet country lanes around this special wetland area, providing access to many broadland nature reserves and conservation centres. There are also several circular routes around the Broads.
Or take ride around the Holkham Estate ln the Holkham Bycyle route. It's a great chance to explore the grounds as well as the local area.
If you are planning on bringing your bike on holiday, there's a range of Cyclists Welcome accommmodation to find a place to stay.
