About
East Runton, next door to West Runton, is a long, sandy beach backed by sloping sandstone cliffs and countryside. Towards the high tide mark, the beach can be pebbly, however as the tide goes out, swathes of sand are revealed.
From here, you can catch sight of Cromer Pier in the distance and it's only a ten minute walk away.
Like West Runton, the beach is of interest to geologists and fossil hunters alike. The chalk reef stretches along East Runton which makes it a fascinating spot for snorkelers. The beach is one of Norfolk’s most popular surf spots.
Along with a seasonal lifeguard service and plenty of rock-pools East Runton is a firm family favourite.
Car park and toilet facilities are located at the top of the cliff, with the village of East Runton close by.
