About

A beautiful, 32 acre modern garden containing many garden rooms with herbaceous borders, gravel gardens, sub-tropical gardens, a box parterre, sunken rose garden, Mediterranean garden, Desert Wash and a large woodland garden — there really is so much to explore.

This garden contains many themed gardens within the whole, just when you think that you have seen it all, another surprise awaits around the next corner. From Exotic and Mediterranean Gardens to the Desert Wash containing large specimens of Yuccas, Puyas, Dasylirions and Nolinias that display their flowering scapes at dizzying heights.

The matured Diamond Jubilee Walled Garden bursts with colour and scent from the Roses contained within. The Alitex greenhouse is home to an ever-changing display of plants from special Spring Bulbs in pots to Auriculas, then Old-fashioned Pelargoniums and finally Nerines although many other jewels find their way into this haven of delight. The monumental Fruit Cage is bursting with Cherries and Berries.

A Xerophytic Garden, new walled seating areas and paved Front Courtyard all contribute to the experience that only East Ruston Old Vicarage can provide in an ever-changing panoply. Light lunches and afternoon teas are available.

The garden and tea room will opens in March until October each year, Wednesdays to Sunday and Bank Holidays (12:00 to 5.30pm). Check website for specific opening dates. The Tea Room opens at 12 pm.
