About

Sandringham is the much-loved Country Retreat of the Royal family, and has been the private home to four generations of British monarchs since 1862. 

Sandringham Royal Parkland spans over 243 hectares for visitors to enjoy. Planted with a mixture of evergreen and deciduous trees, mainly Corsican and Scots Pine mixed with Oak, Sweet Chestnut and Birch, and supports an abundance of animals, birds and plants.  

The Royal Park is open daily throughout the year to walk or cycle and is dog friendly with a natural woodland Children’s Play Area, there are also two waymarked Nature Trails and an orienteering trail. The Courtyard in the Parkland has the Sandringham Shop, Sandringham Restaurant offering Afternoon Tea and Terrace Take Away Café. The Children’s Play Area in the Royal Park is open all year (tickets are not needed to visit but car parking charges apply). Sandringham Shop open daily from 9:30am-5pm. Sandringham Restaurant open daily from 10am-5pm. The Terrace Café is open for takeaway drinks, light lunches and snacks from 9:30am-5pm daily.

Eight main ground floor rooms used by The Royal Family inside Sandringham House, full of their treasured ornaments, portraits, and furniture, are open to the public from April to October along with the sixty-acre gardens include the formal North Garden and the Stream Walk. All house and garden visits and afternoon tea must be pre-booked online. House and Ggrdens open 10am-5pm April - October. 

Sandringham St Mary Magdalene Church is also within the grounds and open from April – October.
