About
The beautiful church, built in the 13th and 14th centuries has an impressive tower commanding the road. It has unique features such as a magnificent hammer beam nave roof, perpendicular period windows, the Charles I Royal Coat of Arms of 1653 over the north door, the glorious chancel roof sympathetically restored in the 19th century, the fine organ installed in the early 20th century, as well as recast and augmented ring of eights bells.
The patron is Earl Spencer, whose family this privilege has remained since Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, acquired it along with much of the land in the parish in the early 1700s.
