About
Set in 170 acres of breathtaking woodland, grassland and lakes, our award-winning nature reserve in Norfolk is dedicated to the conservation of endangered deer, antelope and birds and home to the most varied collection of deer and antelope in Europe, free to roam at their will.
Here at Watatunga, we are passionate about restoring, nurturing and sharing nature’s ecosystems. Our purpose-built wildlife reserve has been created to embrace the uniqueness of the area, landscape and species, brought to you by our conservation-obsessed team and with principles of sustainable tourism running throughout. During your visit, you can see, Axis deer, water buffalo and white stork plus plenty more!
Watatunga also offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for visitors to experience expert-led safari tours, in our fully-accessible self-drive buggies. A chance to explore the stunning scenery and see the animals in what is as close to their natural environment as we can create, grazing on the rich grasslands, drinking at the lakeside or even concealing themselves amidst the ferns and the woodland floor. No two visits are the same.
Year-round, we welcome guests to our luxury self-catering lodges for short-breaks and longer holidays. Our safari stays make for an unusual getaway, as all guests booking directly with us enjoy unlimited access to explore the reserve from your own self-drive buggy, and are perfectly placed to discover the beautiful surroundings and many visitor attractions of West Norfolk.
