Chestnut Barn is a beautifully converted barn offering spacious self-catering holiday accommodation for families or groups of friends in North Norfolk. There is a private hot tub in the garden, table tennis and outdoor games in the cart shed, and dogs are very welcome. It is located only 15 minutes drive to many beautiful beaches and a 5 minute walk to the traditional village green with a great local pub which serves fantastic food.
The open plan living area in Chestnut Barn is light and airy. It has lots of character with exposed beams and original features. The kitchen is fully equipped with a range cooker, double drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher, spacious fridge freezer and lots of storage. There is a seating area with three comfortable sofas and additional chairs, a SMART television, Bluetooth speakers, Alexa and DVD player. The wooden dining table is extendable and comfortably seats large groups.
There are four spacious bedrooms comfortably sleeping 10 - 12 guests plus cots in four bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor and has a king size bed, the largest ensuite with walk in shower and bath and an external door to the garden. Also on the ground floor, Bedroom 2 has a king size bed, an ensuite with walk in shower, external double doors to the garden and TV with built in DVD.
Bedroom 3 is on the first floor and has a king size bed, an ensuite with spacious shower cubicle, wardrobe and dressing table. Accessed via a separate staircase, Bedroom 4 is also on the first floor and has four single beds. It also has a cosy TV corner with lots of beanbags and DVD player.
There are two fold out beds and two cots which can be provided for guests and can be placed in any of the rooms.
Outside there is a large enclosed garden and a gravel parking area for several cars. There is a main patio area which is accessed via two sets of double patio doors in the main living area with garden furniture to comfortably seat 10, plus there is more garden furniture which can be added for additional guests and a children's picnic bench. In the garden there is also a sand pit, table tennis in the traditional timber cart shed and many outdoor games. A second patio is located in a secluded position and has a hot tub and outdoor seating. There is a further seating area for morning coffee.
Chestnut Barn is situated within five miles of the coast and is close to three National Trust properties - Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park. BeWilderwood and the Dinosaur Park are close by, as are the Norfolk Broads.
The centre of Aldborough village is within a 5-10 minute walk from Chestnut Barn where you can find our fantastic local pub - The Cricketers on the Green - which serves terrific locally sourced food and has a 5 star rating on Trip Advisor, a shop with Post Office and children’s play area which are all located around the traditional village green where cricket is often played during the summer months. Many more pubs and restaurants are in the local area and we are more than happy to share our recommendations.

Road Directions
Chestnut Barn is situated on School Road, Thurgarton, next to the village of Aldborough. The property is easily accessed via road and is close to the A140 which provides access to many local attractions and beaches incuding Sheringham, Cromer and Overstrand.
Chestnut Barn is approximately 15 minutes' drive to many beaches and three National Trust locations (Blickling Hall at Aylsham, Sheringham Park and Felbrigg Hall).
Further afield there is the Norfolk Broads (approximately 20 minute drive), Blakeney, Cley, Holkham and Wells-on-Sea.
There is lots to do in the local area and Chestnut Barn is well located to provide you with easy access.
Public Transport Directions
Transport by car is the most easiest and convenient. However there is a bus service to the village.
The nearest train stations are at Cromer, Roughton Road, Sheringham or Gunton.
