The museum is an independent charity which tells the fascinating story of Sheringham's history through its people and boats. Our displays are spread over three floors, which include our viewing Tower and the Windfarm Exhibition, film room, viewing balcony and exhibition space.
We are proud to hold four lifeboats which served the town for over 150 years, as well fishing boats and crab boats made by local boat buliders. Our displays are about the history of Sheringham, these include wonderful objects such as the zeppelin bomb which hit the town in World War One (the first zeppelin to fall on the UK) and work by famous local artists, including Thomas W. We are open seasonally and have one major exhibition with a changing theme every year that complements our permanent displays.
