Be inspired by Secrets from the Stores, a selection of previously unseen objects, chosen to spark your creativity!
From lost musket balls to doorless keys every object at Blickling Estate has a story to tell, and a small selection of these will be on display as part of our Secrets from the Stores event, including:
• The hoard of doll pieces and pipe stubs found over a 40-year gardening career at Blickling, offering a tantalizing peek into garden activities.
• Functional yet beautiful ceramics, including over 40 broken ceramic flowers.
• Netsuke and Okimono objects made in Japan in the 19th century. Netsuke are highly decorative toggles designed to attach an 'inro' or pouch onto traditional Japanese clothing. Okimonos are often larger and are purely decorative.
After seeing the items on display, tuck into seasonal food and warming drinks in the Stables and Muddy Boots cafés as you ponder the possible stories of the objects and how they might inspire you?
Secrets from the Stores takes place from 13 January until 30 March, 11am - 3pm, with last entry at 2.30pm.
Standard admission prices apply, no booking required. Free entry for National Trust members.
